Soooo, I have been having fun drawing fakemon lately, and it’s been awesome. But I am also tirrred. I work full time (in a non-creative job, unfortunately), so I’ve been waking up at 6:30 to draw before work, and I tell ya it is exhausting. Furthermore, I have a ton of family stuff going on, worrying about going back to school in the fall, moving back to Kansas City, etc.

Point being, the fakemon might not always be one every day. I’m keeping up so far, but some days are slower than others, some days I’m more crazy busy. I just might not keep up.

In each pancake is cabbage, shredded carrots, kale, and shallots (the recipe asks for green onions but I didn't have any).

They held together wonderfully because of the eggs!

A finished pancake with the special okonomi sauce on top.

Also great with some mayonaise spread on top!

I tried my hand at home made Okonomiyaki tonight, and my god was it delicious! For those who don’t know, Okonomiyaki is a Japanese vegetable pancake with a tangy sauce. I first had it when my family hosted a Japanese exchange student when I was in high school, but I had only had the packaged kind up until tonight.

I will never eat the packaged kind again (except for maybe the one that we already have in the house).

Anyway, it was super simple to make, and they held together really well. I was very pleased with myself. If you wanna try the recipe, this is the one I used!

Right, so I had a post-apocalyptic dream last night. The world as we know it ended in some way having to do with a giant sea monster or something, but there were also zombie-sort-of-things too. They weren’t zombies, but almost like people who got body-snatched, you know? And there was something about decapitated heads moving around, and Chicago being quarantined under a giant bubble and then air-lifted into the ocean, where it sank with everyone still on it.

But the worst part of the dream was when some of the other survivors I was with were being really immature about our situation, and were spending time building pillow forts. I think they were just losing it a little bit. But in the dream I got really mad at them and was yelling, and then went off by myself, where I realized that it had been a year since everything fell apart, and I would probably never be making pillow forts or doing anything along the lines of fun for the rest of my life, which might not be very long anyway. And that really freaked me out and I was about to be sobbing, but then I woke up.

I felt I needed to devote a post entirely to this drawing I did of Max. She is definitely my favorite character on Batman Beyond. Without her friendship, Terry would have a pretty tough time balancing his double-life, let alone keeping his girlfriend, Dana (who is such a boring character, I mean come on). Max longs to fight crime alongside her best friend, and although she might not admit it, she understands why he would never let her. Terry cares about her too much to risk her getting hurt, and Max respects him enough to honor that decision… At least for the most part.

Would anyone wanna buy a t-shirt of this? Sassy Max!

Let me know. I’ll probably just do it anyway, but I’m wondering if there’s any interest.
